How does the word 'Witch' make you feel?
I'm always curious to see how people react to the words Witch or Witchcraft. For some, it draws them in, but for others it feels more uncomfortable.
Some of this is the emotional imprint of the Burning Times, where anyone who was outside of a very small box of acceptability was persecuted and marked as "other" in a very dangerous way. If you'd like to dig deeper into that piece, I highly suggest Celeste Larsen's book 'Heal the Witch Wound'.
For me, I use the word very intentionally, in an effort to remove the fear around it and re-establish it as a way to invoke empowerment. Being a Witch, in my view, simply means you are aware of and in control of your own energy, and aware of the energy of others & the energies of all that surrounds you. Because of this, you're able to work with those energies…
I've never thought about it I guess apart from what media / movies has shown. But now, it's not at all uncomfortable, it brings me in and makes me curious and think you might have special powers that I wish I had too ;)
